Prepare the Sandwiches
- Spread 2-3 tablespoons of Nutella on 4 slices of bread. Top each with another slice to form sandwiches. Press edges gently to seal.
Make the Batter
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until fully combined and frothy.
Cook the French Toast
- Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted and foaming.
- Dip each sandwich into the batter, coating both sides well (about 20 seconds per side). Let excess drip off.
- Place in skillet and cook 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp. Add more butter for second batch.
- Keep warm in a 200°F oven if cooking in batches.
Serve
- Slice sandwiches diagonally. Dust with powdered sugar and top with fruit. Serve immediately with syrup if desired.
